South of Portugal

Further south, in the Alentejo, days are spent peacefully!

With cork oaks and plains that stretch as far as the eye can see, populated here and there by small villages of whitewashed houses, the Alentejo is where we find paradise.
In this beautiful region of Portugal, the golden sun warms the soul in the summer and the green fields bring comfort in the winter.
To the north of the region, the image of the horses on the woodland edge combines with the unique pace of the people. And on the coast, the landscape cut out by the cliffs, hide idyllic beaches, many of which are ideal for surfing.
The lands of the Alentejo transmit the strength of a people and images of the past, like in the old Jewish quarter in Castelo de Vide.
Évora and Elvas, two cities classified as World Heritage, are examples of the wealth of the fascinating history of Portugal. Just like Marvão or Monsaraz, with their magnificent walls.
Also, the gastronomy here is truly a festival of flavours, accompanied by excellent wines of the region.
And these charms that extend to the neighbouring Algarve!
With endless hours of sunshine and warm waters thanks to Atlantic and Mediterranean influences, the Algarve offers white sandy beaches, hidden caves and rocky bays, lagoons and small islands, magnificent golf courses, a lively nightlife and, last but not least, the chance to stroll the streets and alleyways of charming towns and villages. The traditional Algarvian houses have strong influences of Arab architecture, the region having been the last stronghold of the Moors in Portugal.
The traditional cuisine of the region is also a signature image, with its very unique aromas and flavours. Fresh seafood and fish are the main attractions of this secluded seaside corner.
